A Better Way to Enjoy the cold…

EQ Live at War On Music Records

What a better way to enjoy the cold than to work in the studio with some great music… Here’s just a quick update on what’s going on here at Private Ear:

-Electro Quarterstaff is en route to completing their new album with John Paul Peters engineering/Mixing. (see Pic). What a great time in the studio watching Dan nail the entire record on drums in 4 hours, most of the time was spent making sure things were perfect… sheesh. 3 drum edits total (am I allowed to say that?) and 5 of the 7 songs were first-takes. It’s a pleasure. Guitars and Bass next… vocals…. NEVER.

-Richard Moody has completed tracking and mixing on his new solo record with Neil at the helm. Final additions are being made from across the globe as Richard is already back in his second home, India.

-Winnipeg composer Matthew Patton has just completed demo work for the soundtrack to Guy Maddin’s upcoming feature film with John Paul at the helm. Additional tracking will take place this spring in Iceland at Sundlaugin, Sigur Ros’ personal studio. A road trip for JP? A meeting with Bjork? We’ll see!

-Too Many Times (Yorkton Sask.) completed a 4-song demo. Heavy, southern-rock infused metal. Fantastic stuff!

-Crisis Jane (Former) has regrouped with a new vocalist and have recorded a 1st demo/single. Catchy as expected. Great track!

-Your Worst Enemy is in the mix-down phase of their new and first EP. These guys have a lot of fun in the studio! Good times.
